Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

FERPA, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records and affords students the right to refuse to permit New Mexico State University from releasing or disclosing any information about them. Additionally, FERPA gives parents certain rights with respect to their children’s education records.
